Beer, Bowling, and now Bacon?

A New York Times article highlights a bowling-alley-and-bar that has opened up right next to the Brooklyn Brewery in the Williamsburg section of New Your City.

Okay, fair enough.

Then they highlight a new experimental 15-gallon batch of barleywine featuring smoked malt--and bacon fat--and aged in a bourbon barrel.

“One of two things will happen,” Mr. Oliver [Garrett Oliver, Brooklyn's brewmaster, not to be confused with Baltimore's Bill Oliver] predicted. “Either this will be the most amazingly disgusting thing you’ve ever tasted in your life. Or I shall rule the earth.”

You can take your bacon vodka and bacon gummies, Sam Sessa and Bad Decisions. I'll await this.

(Bringing this back to Baltimore, Crabby Charm City has its own bowling bar, Mustang Alley's in Harbor East, which occasionally serves up decent brews such as Clipper City; and bacon is one of the stars of the Beer & Bacon Fest at Clipper City Brewing on Sept. 19th.)
