Keepin' Up with the Joneses--or the Church

The latest e-mail from Max's Taphouse indicates that Max's has now put in two more cask beer engines, for a total of five handpumps available.  This evens them up for bragging rights with their D.C. competition, Church Key.

On tonight for the weekly Cask Night:

Burton Bridge Bramble Stout 5.0%  [this is, in this blogger's opinion, a nice one, if a bit light for winter]
North Coast Red Seal  5.5%
Weyerbacher Hops Infusion 6.2%
Acardia Nut Brown 5.6%
Wintercoat Mols  6.4%

Sources at the bar indicate that equipment and hardware is on site for the installation of an additional 20-some draft lines, and it's hoped to have them installed and flowing by the end of March.

This Jones wishes he had 5 beer engines! We actually had lines fitted to run 5 engines at The Pratt Street Ale House so we have the capability to expand to 5 ... watch this space!
