This just in to the Beer in Baltimore newsroom:
MillerCoors, the second largest beer company in the U.S., has launched a new iPhone application called Tip ‘n Spin in time for March Madness. The new application provides a unique, fun experience for basketball fans by allowing them to compete and earn points by balancing a basketball on a Miller Lite bottle with their iPhone. . . .No need for me to read any further, thanks.

Makes perfect sense! I'm guessing you also don't own a TV, radio or PC either :P
Let's get this straight: a telephone or cell phone is there for MY convenience. Ditto the TV, radio, computer, and internet.
This thing is basically suggesting a way for me to waste even MORE time by playing with a sales pitch disguised as a game, on what is ostensibly my telephone. To me, this is about as intrusive as a video screen blaring a commercial at me while I'm in the restroom, or the TV turning itself on to play me a commercial. Or "Clippy," everyone's favorite Microsoft Help icon.
This is one app in a sea of 150,000 apps... no one forces you to download apps you don't want.
I'll put it this way, then:
Friends don't let friends drink bad beer.... or waste time talking about their "hip" new marketing gimmicks that concurrently waste time themselves.
I own a blackberry for a very simple reason. My wife TXTs me. So to preserve harmony in the marriage I respond, and I want a full keyboard.
Having said that I do not have a data plan and do not get on the internet from my phone. So any company/phone that requires me to get a data plan is out. Thank you T-Mobile.
